Children's Classes

"Children are the most precious treasure a community can possess, for in them are the promise and guarantee of the future. They bear the seeds of the character of future society which is largely shaped by what the adults constituting the community do or fail to do with respect to children." — The Universal House of Justice

What are the classes?

The classes focus on the developing and applying spiritual qualities in children, which they can practise in family and community life. Lessons are taught through arts and crafts, songs, storytelling, games and memorisation.

Classes are currently offered in three grades that meet simultaneously in different rooms:

  • Grade 2 — Building on Grade 1, this course presents an opportunity for participants to reflect on the spiritual qualities learnt and its application in their lives including how to live in harmony with others, how to be a good friend.
  • Grade 3 — Learning about the world's great religions and Educators.

Who are the teachers?

Classes are usually led by youth and parents eager to take on responsibility for guiding children in their community, though they can be taught by any age group. Those who offer this act of service work to create a space where children can learn, ask questions, and refine their talents and abilities. This requires the help of the parent(s). Teachers and parents collaborate for the development of every child involved.
